Welcome one and all to my dog blog, The Dog Grooming Philosopher. I am a Philosophy Undergraduate with The Open University. Whilst studying for my BA (HONS) degree, I re-trained as, you guessed it, a Dog Groomer. Although, I do prefer the word Stylist. My new career is both challenging, rewarding, and therapeutic. I mean who doesn't love slobbery, wet kisses and wagging tails?
During the course of the next twelve months, my mission is to entertain and enlighten you about what's like to work within this booming industry. The posts shared will be well-meaning and anecdotal; including helpful hints about keeping your furry four-legged friends in tip-top condition between visits to their own Stylists. Not just from myself, but from a vast network of Dog Stylists that I have connected with over the past two years. They include the students that I trained with and work colleagues, and those who I have had the pleasure to meet online via social media.
